Toray Optical Fiber PG Series - PG-FB250 to PG-FB3000 Fiber Optics

Toray's bare fiber is a step-type, the fiber core is high-purity polymethyl methacrylate, and the cladding is a fluorinated polymer. Raytela plastic optical fiber is a low-attenuation, high-reliability product with high transmission capacity, good noise impedance, high flexibility, etc. It is widely used in short-distance communications, industry, decoration and other fields. Special optical fibers are also used in medical equipment to strictly control dust/foreign matter. Toray uses special machines to detect special medical optical fibers throughout the production line to ensure that the output products are free of dust/foreign matter. And pass the "Biocompatibility test".

Toray Bare Fiber PG Series: Superior Performance and Diverse Applications

I. Structure and Materials – The Cornerstone of Performance

Toray's PG Series bare optical fiber adopts a step-index structure with a high-purity polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) core. The excellent optical transparency of PMMA enables efficient optical signal transmission, ensuring stable signal propagation within the fiber core while minimizing attenuation and distortion.

The cladding layer is made of fluorinated polymer with a low refractive index, which effectively confines light within the core and reduces scattering loss. This structure also enhances mechanical strength and chemical stability, protecting the fiber from environmental influences and extending its service life.

II. Wide Range of Specifications for Different Applications

PG-FB250

With a diameter of 0.25 mm, this fiber offers excellent flexibility and is suitable for applications requiring compact routing and precision installation.

PG-FB500

The 0.5 mm diameter provides a balanced combination of flexibility and light transmission. It is widely used in decorative lighting and automotive interior ambient lighting systems.

PG-FB750 and PG-FB1000

With diameters of 0.75 mm and 1.0 mm, these fibers are suitable for short-distance data transmission between devices, including small local area networks and short-range communication systems.

PG-FB1500 / PG-FB2000 / PG-FB3000

Diameters of 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm, and 3.0 mm support long-distance light transmission and large-area illumination. They are commonly used in outdoor landscape lighting, architectural outline lighting, and theme park lighting decoration.
