Mitsubishi SK Series Plastic Optical Fibers (SK-10 / SK-20 / SK-30 / SK-40 / SK-60 / SK-80)
The Mitsubishi SK series is an industrial-grade plastic optical fiber developed by Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan. It uses a high-transmittance PMMA fiber core and has an outer diameter ranging from 0.25mm to 3.0mm (e.g., SK20 is 0.5mm, SK40 is 1.0mm). These products feature low attenuation (150–200 dB/km), high tensile strength (up to 70N), and excellent bending resistance, making them suitable for industrial automation, PLC systems, sensor signal transmission, automotive MOST networks, medical lighting, and decorative light guides. Compared to the civilian-grade CK series, the SK series offers superior transmission stability and mechanical performance, resulting in higher reliability.
It has the following characteristics:
1. Low attenuation: the attenuation is 150 to 200 dB/km. When the recommended transmission distance is ≤100 meters, it can effectively reduce the loss of optical signals.
2. Excellent material: it can transmit visible light well, and the optical fiber is soft.
3. Standards compliance: it complies with RoHS standards, is
4. Various diameters: the optical fiber diameter is from 0.175 to 3.0 mm, which can meet the application requirements of different scenarios.
Widely used: It is mainly used in sensor, industrial, medical and other fields, and can also be used for general civil use, such as Toslink audio transmission.
