FC plastic optical fiber cable transparent large core optical fiber (FC 1000um pof)

This product utilizes a highly transparent plastic cable sheath and a large-core 1000µm POF (Plastic Optical Fiber) to visually observe the internal fiber connection status and optical signal transmission. This allows for quick docking during installation without the need for specialized calibration equipment, and allows for precise fault location during routine maintenance, significantly reducing operational barriers and maintenance costs. The 1000µm large-core design offers an exceptionally wide light collection angle (numerical aperture 0.5) and a high tolerance for docking misalignment, making connections easy even for non-professionals. Furthermore, the single-core bandwidth reaches up to 1Gbps (up to 100m), meeting the needs of short-distance, high-speed signal transmission.

Development of FC Specialty Fiber (FC 1000um POF)

Leveraging the advantages of FC 1000um POF's large core diameter (a light-collecting angle of 0.5°C and easy docking), material modifications and structural optimizations are implemented for specific applications. For heat-resistant applications, POF substrate modification extends the operating temperature range to -50°C to 120°C, making it suitable for environments such as high-temperature industrial furnaces and cold chain monitoring, while avoiding the high-temperature softening and low-temperature brittle cracking issues associated with conventional POF. For flame-retardant applications, V0-grade flame-retardant POF material and sheathing are used. These materials remain flame-resistant and release no toxic gases, meeting the stringent fire protection requirements of data centers, subways, and substations. For corrosion resistance, a fluoride coating is added to protect against corrosive media such as acidic and alkaline solutions and marine salt spray, making them suitable for optical links in chemical plants and marine exploration equipment. For medical applications, biocompatible POF material (compliant with ISO 10993) is selected. Standard), no harmful substances are released, and it can be used for optical connection of medical monitors and diagnostic equipment.

FC Yellow Plastic Fiber

Leveraging the advantages of the FC Yellow Plastic Optical Fiber’s large core diameter, this fiber ensures efficient light collection and easy docking for various applications. Through material enhancements and structural optimization, it can meet specialized requirements:

Heat-resistant applications: Modified POF substrate allows operation from -50°C to 120°C, suitable for high-temperature industrial furnaces and cold chain monitoring, while avoiding softening at high temperatures and brittleness at low temperatures.

Flame-retardant applications: V0-grade flame-retardant POF material and sheathing provide excellent fire resistance without releasing toxic gases, ideal for data centers, subways, and substations.

Corrosion-resistant applications: Fluoride coating protects against acids, alkalis, and marine salt spray, making it reliable for chemical plants and marine exploration equipment.

Medical applications: Biocompatible POF material compliant with ISO 10993 ensures safety for optical connections in medical monitors and diagnostic instruments.

Durable, flexible, and highly identifiable with its yellow sheathing, this FC plastic optical fiber is suitable for industrial, medical, and laboratory optical links requiring reliable performance.

How should you choose among these three types of optical fibers?

FC Transparent Large-Core Fiber: Suitable for optical experiments, teaching demonstrations, and standard optical communication, offering high transmittance and low attenuation. The transparent fiber facilitates observation of the light transmission path. Its large core and wide light collection angle make it suitable for short-distance data and signal transmission.

FC Specialty Fiber: Developed for high-end applications, combining material modification and structural optimization, it meets requirements for high temperature, flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, and medical safety. For example, the high-temperature type can operate stably from -50°C to 120°C; the flame-retardant type uses V0-rated materials to meet fire safety standards for data centers and subways; the corrosion-resistant type is suitable for chemical and marine environments; and the medical type uses biocompatible materials (ISO 10993 standard).

FC Yellow Plastic Fiber: Standard POF fiber with a yellow sheath for easy identification and cabling, suitable for industrial, laboratory, and medical monitoring scenarios. It offers good durability and flexibility, making it a cost-effective choice for conventional optical signal transmission.
