The AFBR-S10PS010Z is a point optical sensor with an integrated self-diagnostic function, designed for precise and reliable light detection. Incoming light is captured by a transparent point sensor head and guided into a plastic optical fiber (POF) cable. An internal coupler continuously monitors the connection quality between the two fibers inside the cable, enabling effective self-diagnostics and stable system operation.
The special design of the sensing element ensures electrical isolation between the arc-flash detection area and the detector electronics, improving system safety and reliability in demanding environments.
This point sensor system consists of two main components: the AFBR-S10PS010Z sensor head and the AFBR-S10PS011Z plastic optical fiber connector. Both components belong to Broadcom’s arc-flash detection product family.
When used together with the AFBR-S10TR001Z sensor transceiver, these devices form a complete alarm system for detecting arcs between conductors in power distribution networks.
